Help with Pulling

Our anti-pull harnesses and collars are a great tool, but they work best as part of a consistent training plan to combat pulling.

We also recommend using our double-ended training lead in combination with the anti-pull harness for more control. This setup allows you to clip onto both the front and back D-rings of the harness, giving you better control over your dog’s movement and helping to redirect pulling.

Additionally, it helps to use treat-based rewards as well for calm behaviour. The best way to stop your dog from pulling is to show them that walking on a loose lead gets a reward and pulling doesn’t.

As soon as your dog starts pulling, stop walking. Never pull their lead back (negative reinforcement can make behaviour worse). We recommend just waiting for them to stop pulling.

Once they have stopped pulling, you can reward them with a treat and continue walking. This process might need to be repeated quite a few times, depending on your dog's behaviour, but it will be worth it in the end.

With all this in mind, even the best gear won’t stop pulling overnight. Consistent change takes practice, patience, and encouragement. Every dog is different, but with the right tools and consistent training, most dogs improve significantly over time!
