The chest measurement of your dog, or the girth, is the first measurement you’ll need to take. This can be taken by placing the measuring tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, usually just behind the front legs.

The next measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the harness is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

    Got this for my 4 year old male chow who pulls. we have used the front clip on this harness for a week and he’s not pulling anywhere near as much, isn’t struggling for breath after his walks and on a whole we both enjoy walks better. going from a collar to this harness, I honestly couldn’t recommend enough.

    These harnesses are superb with the only downside being their pricing, however these are so good they command a pricetag to reflect the quality! Adjustment is easy enough but can be a bit of a fiddle to get exactly perfect but once done the buckles stay put and don't slip. Generally the harness stays correct on the dogs body but if your pooch likes to pull a lot then it can ease over to one side a little, much less than other harnesses that can end up totally sideways with a random flight type pulling dog. Saying that, my woof has virtually instantly began walking with way less pulling while using this harness. This is his second one and i had the old one since he was much younger so this replacement is purely due to him growing and needing a size up! You do in fact get what you pay for, a little pricy but well worth it! Recommended harness for strong breeds, grab handle version also highly recommended and almost obligatory. Top product, top uk company!

    I have a 6 month old German Shepherd Puppy. So "normal" dog gear just isn't enough. Amazing Harness. Good Quality. Helps so much with her pulling. As she's a big girl (and still growing) its really important being confident that it wont break and my dog is secure. Amazing fit allows her to run freely without being restricted. Went into store and the guy that helped us with the fitting was so helpful EVEN with our pup being a nightmare! Honestly can't thank him enough. Thank you BullyBillows.

    We already had a BullyBillows comfort harness but we decided to get a Hurricane harness as our boy gets very excited at the start of walks and can pull like a train. The Hurricane harness with the front clip is fantastic, in the past he would try to "take off", now as soon as he feels resistance he relaxes and walks perfectly.

    Previously had a different brand harness (the popular brand everyone seems to have) - Onzlo is reactive, and a puller (we're working on it) as well as being 28kg. I was reccomended BB by a friend & I can't believe the difference it's made to our walks - I have more control, and Onzlo walks calmer when he feels the tug on the chest, just wish we'd have had one earlier.

    the harness doesn't fit, even though when the correct measurements were entered we had a "congratulations you have a perfect fit" comment. As you can see from the photo the harness is under his armpit and the buckle is also a rub hazard as it is also in that area. This harness is unusable for a bull terrier if the measurements are correct, and this is even without using the front loop?     I don’t know what sort of witchcraft these guys have used in the making of the hurricane harness but I’ve got the frenchie from hell always been a nightmare on the lead and I swear from the first walk with this harness he’s been perfect pretty much walks in a heel position all the time now it’s baffling why but I’m not complaining what I will be doing is buying the black one the khaki one and the purple one 10 outta 10 product quality is top notch too 👍

    How to put on a dog harness

    Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back.     What is the best dog harness?

    The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog.     How to measure a harness for a dog

    To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls. 

    If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.

    To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably.
