FAQs

What size harness does a Cane Corso need?

Most adult Cane Corsos will need a Large or XL, but because this breed varies quite a bit in build - especially between males and females - we'd always recommend using our measuring tool.

Is a harness or collar better for a Cane Corso?

Honestly? Both. A harness is the safer option for walks - it takes pressure off the throat and gives you much better control, especially if your Corso has any reactive tendencies. But a well-fitted collar is still essential for ID tags and as a backup attachment point. Many Corso owners use them together with a double-ended lead, and once you try it, you won't go back.

Can Cane Corsos slip out of harnesses?

They absolutely can if the harness doesn't fit properly - and with a breed this strong, that's not a situation you want to find yourself in. The key is a snug fit with multiple adjustment points. You should be able to slide two fingers under any strap, but no more than that. Our TRI-Harness is designed with exactly this in mind - secure, adjustable, and built to stay put even when your Corso is doing their best impression of a freight train.

What lead length is best for a Cane Corso?

For public walks, a standard 1.2-1.5m lead gives you the control you need when things get busy. For training and recall work in open spaces, a 10-15m long line is ideal - it gives your Corso freedom to move while keeping you in control of the situation. We'd honestly recommend having both in your kit.

Are Cane Corsos hard to walk on a lead?

They can be - particularly in that teenage phase between 12 and 24 months when their confidence overtakes their manners. But with the right gear, consistent training, and a bit of patience, Corso walks can go from a full-body workout to something you genuinely enjoy. A front-clip harness and a padded-handle lead is the combination most owners swear by."
