The chest measurement of your dog, or the girth, is the first measurement you’ll need to take. This can be taken by placing the measuring tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, usually just behind the front legs.
The next measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the harness is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

Lightweight Comfort. Ready for Every Adventure.
Make everyday walks more comfortable and manageable with the BullyBillows Anti-Pull Hurricane Harness Lighter | With Handle. Designed for dogs of all sizes, from XS to XL, this lightweight, versatile harness combines durable construction, multiple lead attachment points and a practical grab handle to support everything from daily walks to training sessions.
Whether you're navigating busy streets, exploring the outdoors or working on loose-lead walking, the Hurricane Harness Lighter gives you flexible options for handling your dog.
Lightweight Design. Everyday Comfort. Built for regular use, the Hurricane Harness combines robust Ripstop material with soft, odour-resistant Neoprene lining. The lightweight construction helps keep your dog's walking gear comfortable, while the carefully selected materials are designed to withstand the demands of everyday adventures.
Hypalon reinforcement in high-stress areas adds durability where it's needed most, helping the harness stand up to regular use.
Dual Lead Attachment Points for Flexible Handling With front and rear attachment points, you can adapt the harness to suit your dog's walking needs. The front D-loop can help redirect your dog's movement and assist with managing pulling, while the rear attachment offers a conventional lead connection for everyday walks.
For dogs that pull, the front attachment can be a useful part of loose-lead training when combined with consistent, positive training techniques.
Integrated Handle for Closer Control When you need to guide your dog more closely, the built-in handle provides a convenient grip. It's particularly useful when navigating obstacles, moving through busy areas or helping your dog through situations where closer handling is appropriate.
Easy to Fit. Built for the Outdoors. Getting ready for a walk is simple, thanks to clips on both sides of the harness that make putting it on and taking it off more convenient.
The closed-cell base helps repel water, while the 3M™ reflective strips improve visibility in low-light conditions. Together, these practical features make the Hurricane Harness Lighter a versatile option for walks throughout the year.
Hardware Options Hardware varies by colourway and edition. Depending on the version selected, the Hurricane Harness is available with stainless steel hardware or lightweight aluminium hardware on Two Tone and Special Edition models. Please check the individual product listing for the exact hardware supplied.

First time using a harness, I was a bit sceptical and didn’t think it would work. How wrong was I, no more pulling, complete control, he loves it so do I and great quality. We could not be happier.
Millie is a Maltipoo x Working Cocker, she's always been well-behaved but could pull like a freight train. We did our research and bought the Hurricane to try walking her on the front D-ring. She now walks like a star, never gets to the end of her lead - she's a joy to walk thanks to this harness
I love the fit and the quality of the harness. The color looks great on my dog.
I do wish the handle was thicker and sturdier like the handle on the combat collars. It would be less likely to twist around your fingers if you're holding it and your dog is moving around.
Both ordering and delivery very straight forward.
Order arrived and was extremely well packed !!
Very good strong quality which is needed for my 9 month EBT as she is already big and strong .
Will definitely be purchasing some matching accessories in the future ✨️
Murphy is our latest rescue dog, he is reactive to other dogs. The harness is excellent, he has responded almost immediately and significantly reduced his pulling. I think he looks stylish, the quality is exceptionally and came promptly and well packaged, a lovely treat. Thank you
I was a little disappointed with the new harness and lead. the build quality, size of clips, material used was far smaller and felt cheaper than our previous harness and lead. Even though the price was much more than our previous purchase. It does stop my dog from pulling though, which is why I did not return it. Must admit though I wish I had returned it now. Feeling a little underwhelmed.
Overall I really like this harness. I like the back isn’t huge and heavy and has a handle for extra holding if needed. Sizing is good I got a size D for my Rottie. It fits so much better than a pet store harness obviously, great for the big neck and chests . The only thing I wish was different was the clips on the harness - they are plastic. I was underwhelmed with the quality honestly. I wish they were metal . For a high quality heavy duty harness that would make me feel more secure with a large breed. It’s definitely and upgrade from what we had!!
I love the harness! It looks great, well made great quality and so aesthetically pleasing. My dog likes it too and happy for me to put it on her. She also walks better and no pulling on her neck now. Thank you Bully Billows for making super harnesses.
Love the tan color on my girl for hiking!! She seemed very comfortable and the quality is there. It got muddy but I threw it in a laundry bag in the washer machine and it washed out perfectly - the harness looks brand new no signs of wear or tear after washing or after our 2 hour hike to a waterfall. My staffy is 8 months and about 30-32lbs we got her the size B
After a disappointing experience with the try harness, I have to say I’m delighted with this one qualities is excellent. This is perfect and my one year-old Cairn terrier loves his new harness thank you very much.
Great quality well designed love to colour once more pity there’s a lack of access accessories available in stock in the same colour kind of defeats the object of the matching colours
But apart from that, highly recommended
so happy with my dogs new harness!
it’s always a struggle to find a harness that fits my girl and something she’s comfortable in too as she’s a typical bulldog with big shoulders and chest.
not only is it a lovely fit, soft and comfortable- it’s stunning to look at!
always happy with a BullyBillows purchase.
Absolutely love this harness, having the clip at the front for the lead is great for controlling Norman on his walks as he likes to pull, lovely material, soft and padded for comfort.
I have 2 American pocket bullies brother and sister, also a frenchie. My husband would have to walk the 2 bullies because they would just constantly pull, but since getting the harnesses they’ve stopped pulling as much, I feel a lot more confident with them both on either side with their new harness and lead.
Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.
What is the best dog harness?
The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.
How to measure a harness for a dog
To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls.
If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.
How to use a dog harness correctly
To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
