Important - Creating your unique look with our bespoke stitching/engraving quality could take us up to 7-10 working days to complete, it's well worth the wait though.

When customising the Combat Range, the adjuster may cover part of the text. The best way to help avoid this is to choose the smallest size which will fit your dog; the adjuster will then be located at the end of the collar away from the name.

The chest measurement of your dog, or the girth, is the first measurement you’ll need to take. This can be taken by placing the measuring tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, usually just behind the front legs.

The next measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the harness is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

This is by far the best harness I’ve bought for Reggie (Staffy). Only thing is I wish there was a different size option for Staffys. Their neck is often actually quite small compared to their chest so I had to get size A but it only just fits so there’s slight movement, not a fault at all but hopefully something that will be looked at in the future. Reggie still has some growing to do so fingers crossed it’ll fit him even better soon 🙂

The tri-harness is brilliant, very durable and with it being a Y shape it doesn’t restrict my dogs movement. Having 3 D-rings is also great, means I can continue to train my very stubborn and very strong dog whilst walking him. The colour is so vibrant and even after rolling around in the grass and mud it hasn’t lost that vibrancy. Thanks again BB, this won’t be our last purchase!

Only used once but so far so good!! Seems extremely good quality and all the measurements were accurate. I went for size B so was a but nervous it would be too big, but once adjusted its perfect. Absolutely love the colour and I'm hoping this harness will last (my boy has broken so many now). Love the different clips on it and am convinced it will stand the test of time!

I was looking for a harness that will ne beautiful and provide me with front & back solid loops so when my dog pulls, I know the material won't break or be ripped off. At first I thought the harness is heavier then the ones I've used before and wasn't sure my dog will like walking with it on. Turns out that not only it has a beautiful colour and design, its also very effective - my dog does not pull when the leash is clipped to the front & she actually seems very happy and comfortable walking with it on.

We used to buy a “strong” harness that cost 4-5 times more than Bullybillows but the stitching came undone and the fabric split. We have had Bullybillows for a few years now and love how well made they are. We love the choice of design and colours. We buy the tri-harness as like the option of the front lead attachment but don’t need to use as much these say as Woody no longer pulls so much. The tri-harness is also great as Woody can be a bit of an escapologist and never had any issues with these. As you can see we walk through woods, fields etc and get covered in mud but no worries as our Bullybillows harnesses wash so easily. We have so many colour - just need an olive green and would love a tartan one!

We have bred our dogs and kept pick of the litter and all bar one of the puppies has these harness’s. The turquoise harness pup is the first to get his adult harness otherwise the others are just growing out of the mini range. I couldn’t recommend them enough. Perfectly secure for a strong puller, look great, and better to train our dogs with. Each dog usually has a traffic lead and long lead if we need to pull them closer to us when crossing roads or passing dogs/scared humans it’s quick and easy to grab the traffic one rather then pulling in different longer leads. We regularly travel with the dogs and would also recommend this armed for travelling. We just connect the harness to their seatbelts and they feel safe and we know they are comfortable and we don’t need to gaff changing them from the previous dog harness seats belt to prior to walking. These harness’s come in a great range of colours and sizes for all dogs. Our male has had his for five years and we’ve only just started to notice the colour starting to fade. It’s still a great colour just not as bright as it was. But from the constant machine washing that is expected. Finally from all the washing the harness has not lost its sturdiness etc. The harnesses seem like an expensive purchase but it’s an investment as ours have followed our dogs from puppy to adult hood and we’ve had more then our monies worth.

Unbelievably happy with my purchase from BullyBillows!! Definitely made a good house ordering a size smaller in the Anti-Pull harnesses because this one fits my 70lb American Bully just perfect! She loves putting her harness on now, she shoves her face in willingly and is much more happy on walks already. This is a great harness, I love it a lot but it's too big for him so it keeps sliding around even though it's on the tightest setting :( I think I should have gotten the smaller kind but I got the one that matched his measurements -- I think if you have a particularly skinny dog, especially in the chest/neck, buy a smaller size than you'd expect from the sizing charts :)

FAQs

How to put on a dog harness

Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.

What is the best dog harness?

The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.

How to measure a harness for a dog

To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls. 

If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.

How to use a dog harness correctly

To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
