About personalisation

Important - Creating your unique look with our bespoke stitching/engraving quality could take us up to 7-10 working days to complete, it's well worth the wait though.

When customising the Combat Range, the adjuster may cover part of the text. The best way to help avoid this is to choose the smallest size which will fit your dog; the adjuster will then be located at the end of the collar away from the name.

We offer personalisation option on almost all of our Collars, Leads and Harnesses. What are the key benefits of adding personalisation to your BullyBillows gear?

1. They're unique to you and your dog.

2. If you have multiple dogs, adding your dogs name can help to distinguish which collar is for which dog.

3. Adding a phone number and Social handle in the unfortunate event of your dog getting lost, this is a very powerful way to ensure your dog can be tracked back to you.

4. If you have a working dog, nervous dog or one who just loves to jump, you can enter names such as POLICE DOG, WARNING, DO NOT PET, NERVOUS etc.

The chest measurement of your dog, or the girth, is the first measurement you’ll need to take. This can be taken by placing the measuring tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, usually just behind the front legs.

The next measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the harness is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

After out growing his ‘puppy’ harness it was time to upgrade. We asked a few other bully breed owners at our local park and Bully Billows kept cropping up! The hardest choice we had was picking the colour!! The variation of the 3 D rings to clip the lead to has been a good addition to our walks. The front D ring has helped with his pulling especially when walking in crowded places and the 2 other D rings allow him a bit more freedom when the space allows! He also loves being off lead and the new harness gives him the freedom to run and bounce around the park without any hesitation! I’ve already recommended the harness to other friends.

Loki & me are loving the harness and lead combo. He is not quite the perfect doggo yet but this harness improved the quality of our walks from day one. He's a big 40kg lump of Lab X Staffy muscle and I was struggling to have any good walks with him. This harness gives me a great level of control and Loki doesn't have to wear the dreaded nose band anymore He is checking in all the time, responding to changes of direction instantly and isn't lunging towards those enticing smells as much. I'm pretty confident things will just get better from now on with this harness. Got the size C for him as he's really big chested but the neck size on the shortest setting is perfect. We had been through every type of collar, slip leads, no pull harnesses from other companies and these are by far the best!! I wouldn’t say they are completely no pull but they do help to control the pulling! They are quite heavy so wouldn’t have got them when they were smaller puppies but they are perfect now! The quality is really worth the money and I know they will last for years! Really heavy duty for strong dogs and gives us confidence they are safe and secure at all times! Would definitely recommend the collars with the handles too for holding onto if needed, as our boy puppy is a little reactive so is perfect if we need to hold him still quickly!

I bought him an anti-pull one before from pets at home and it didn't do a thing, that was ten years ago and I swore off harnesses. FAQs

How to put on a dog harness

Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.

What is the best dog harness?

The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.

How to measure a harness for a dog

To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls. 

If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.

How to use a dog harness correctly

To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
