The chest measurement of your dog, or the girth, is the first measurement you’ll need to take. This can be taken by placing the measuring tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, usually just behind the front legs.
The next measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the harness is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

@swedishbulldogfamily
Finding products that our bulldogs genuinely feel comfortable wearing changed everything for us, and that’s exactly what BullyBillows gave us.
Great quality and well stitched..the lead is strong but soft in the hands... loving the different handle grips for different situations... no need to wrap it around your hand 👌 would highly recommend!!
My xl bully literally pulled like a steam train hurting his shoulders and ours, from day 1 this harness has changed him completely.
Absolute game changer going to order my other dogs one.
Thanks
This is a really nice, good quality harness that is easily adjustable. My dog just needs to get used to it going over his head as his previous harness had a clip that meant it didn’t need to….
Bonnie is nine mths shepherd corso x she pulls on lead not much but shes so strong with this harness she is so much better, its a bit big on her neck but she will soon grow into it what a difference i thought it was bit pricy has she is still growing but well worth it .
This old man lives his walks and despite his age, he is prone to pull ahead. This usually left his old harness out of shape and loose. Those days are behind us now. Highly recommend for pugs of any age
The best quality harness we have purchased!!! Excellent quality! Amazing ways of grip and soft padding. I would recommend to anyone and certainly will buy more products 😊 Also exceptional well packaged!
I have been wanting to get a new harness for a while for my dog as her one is starting to fall apart after 5 good years of use. I wanted something that would stand the test of time as well as the previous one and after doing a little research came across Bully Billows. I measured my dog up and was advised on the site about which harness to get. There were lots of colours to choose from and it arrived quickly and well packaged. It fits great and she seems really comfortable in it.
Lovely lightweight harness that sits just right. Dog has freedom to move and comfortable to run. Love the colours ! My second BullyBillows harness, first one still going strong… love them
Definitely recommend
Fantastic quality and looks fabulous. I read so many reviews saying how good it was and how it’s revolutionised their walks. I was excited but a little wary. But I have to say, it’s incredible. The control you have on your dog is amazing. Our dog is a strong boy that struggles with reactivity. As a consequence, my wife has practically been unable to walk him for nearly 2 years. Tonight she walked our boy and never once panicked she wouldn’t have control. Highly recommend.
I tested the harness out for the first time this weekend and it was a dream. It fit my 180 lb Cane Corso perfectly and he could not pull me at all. My shoulder is saved!
Training my young Labrador is so much easier with this harness. It has stopped her pulling, what a game changer. Fits so much better than other harnesses and plenty of room for her to grow into it. Very pleased with it.
Brilliant harness my dog used to pull but putting this on the front of the harness he doesn’t anymore Fantastic would recommend this to anyone with the lead or a extendable lead dog will not pull best thing we have purchased
So far, we are loving this harness! We have a strong dog, who, despite our best efforts, pulls strongly on walks, even at 9 years old. We have used an easy walk harness for most of his life, but have recently become concerned about the wear and tear on his chest and shoulders given where the front strap is. The material on the BullyBillows hurricane harness seems to be more comfortably placed across his chest. We are hoping he not only walks a bit better on the BullyBillows hurricane harness, but also feels more comfortable. Wish we would have had this years ago!
Return of original harness (ordered the wrong size) was seamless. New harness is well made and sturdy. Slightly disappointed that the clips are plastic and not metal - hence the loss of a star. Our big teenage dog likes to grab them when we put the harness on and because he’s got v strong jaws, he could break them in a second. I’d advise that if your dog is at the upper end of the size guide, order a size up.
Bumblebee loves his new anti pull harness and the colours match his name. The only thing that is a little disappointing is the brightness of the yellow plastic. Great fit and is great as an antipull harness.
My dog is a 17 month old male Rottweiler. We’ve had him since last December. He came from a place that didn’t treat him well and he was never walked or socialised. He’s come a long way and indoors he is the best dog ever. Outdoors and he is a serious puller on the lead and reactive to other dogs, mobility scooters and anything he doesn’t like the look of.
I had high hopes for the Anti- Pull Harness.
My first impression was that it was a sturdy piece of kit. The handle on the top was disappointing! I expected a handle wider and thicker than that by far.
Does it stop my dog from pulling? Maybe a little but he still pulls like crazy. So I’ve spent £54 on a harness that looks good but doesn’t actually stop the pulling. 😫
Great harness but 3 stars because the loops the lead attaches too need to be round and not have edges because with the new clasp lead it catches on the edges and scapes badly leaving score marks on the loops and lead clasp. Only used it 3 times and its bad now. Will be ordering the lead with the original clip as I think this won't scrape as much but the harness loops definitely need to be round and not edged.
The sizes don’t really suit my boy B was to small and C is a bit big on him not the easiest straps to make it smaller shame as quite expensive. And lost out on returning the first one so very reluctant to send it back eight quid for nothing. :(
Deserves 10 stars 🌟
Absolutely stunning
Quality outstanding
Colours of the yellow are so vibrant against the black it is petfect for summer for our pet Rodney ,he looks amazingly proud in his new harness.
The clasps are strong. I've Bullybillows for years ,i would never use another brand for our furbabies.
I definitely recommend Bullybillows for your furbabies.
You wont be disappointed.
Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.
What is the best dog harness?
The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.
How to measure a harness for a dog
To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls.
If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.
How to use a dog harness correctly
To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
