About personalisation

Important - Creating your unique look with our bespoke stitching/engraving quality could take us up to 7-10 working days to complete, it's well worth the wait though.

When customising the Combat Range, the adjuster may cover part of the text. The best way to help avoid this is to choose the smallest size which will fit your dog; the adjuster will then be located at the end of the collar away from the name.

We offer personalisation option on almost all of our Collars, Leads and Harnesses. What are the key benefits of adding personalisation to your BullyBillows gear?

1. They're unique to you and your dog.

2. If you have multiple dogs, adding your dogs name can help to distinguish which collar is for which dog.

3. Adding a phone number and Social handle in the unfortunate event of your dog getting lost, this is a very powerful way to ensure your dog can be tracked back to you.

4. If you have a working dog, nervous dog or one who just loves to jump, you can enter names such as POLICE DOG, WARNING, DO NOT PET, NERVOUS etc.

The neck measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the collar is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

As this is a slip-on collar, we ask you to take into consideration your dog's head size. If the head is much larger than the neck, the collar must also fit over your dog's head to sit on the neck.

Product description

This collar is designed to slip over your dogs head. We advise choosing the smallest size possible in the size range to fit the neck of your dog.

Series 2 - New collar sizing, if you have purchased this same collar before, please measure your dog's neck to ensure a correct size.

This product features thick foam and neoprene padding, which may increase its width from 4cm to between 4.4 and 4.8 cm due to the overhang of the materials.

 

If your dog has sensitive skin, this collar is designed for comfort. It consists of three internal layers: nylon, foam, and neoprene, ensuring a much better experience for your dog when wearing a collar. 

 

We are reinventing the martingale-style collar. This slip-on collar is suitable for puppies, small breeds, and growing/fully matured dogs. 

 

We believe collars should not choke dogs when they pull. That’s why we have included specific stitching lines that ensure safety and comfort while remaining effective. Many owners have reported a significantly improved walking experience after just the first use of this collar.

 

This collar features two stainless steel D-rings: the larger one connects to the collar automatically, while the lead clips to the smaller one. When your dog pulls, the tension tightens the smaller loop, which in turn tightens the larger loop on the nylon, around the neck. Additionally, the collar is equipped with two reflective strips to enhance visibility and safety during night walks.

 

Please note: We recommend measuring your dog's head size before choosing a collar size, as this collar slips over the head. For dogs with larger heads, it may be better to select the next size up.

It's great, well made and feels sturdy. He isn't worried by it and is as responsive as he usually is. The only improvement for us would be to have a greater travel on the "slip" part of it, we bought a small after as the medium is too loose on his neck but the small is tight on his head and just about perfect on his neck.

Disappointed on sizing. These collars keep getting bigger and bigger every year. I've been buying the Ramsey Range for 3 years now, and each time I've bought my dog a new one they are looser and looser on him. My dog is 59lbs and his neck is 17-18inches, therefore I buy a size small (i tried M first and they were huge), and my most recent purchase of the "new version" of the RR collars is bigger than the last one I bought a year or so ago. It's very loose on him, and even when pulled at it's tightest it is not tight enough where it would stop a dog from pulling and doesn't seem to be 16inches. I just wish the actual size of the collar reflected the measurements posted on the website. BB needs to update/adjust the measurements online because no way these are the same size as the old versions. In my picture I have 3 RR collars ALL SIZE SMALL- the blue one is my most recent purchase in Dec 2022- look at the size difference!! To ship these back form the US is way too expensive so guess will have to make this work.

I ordered this collar after a recommendation on a fb post. I am delighted that now I can walk my dog just with a collar and lead after 2 years of only being able to use a harness. I trust the safe padding not to hurt her neck and know the collar could never come off. I will definitely be buying one for my new puppy when he arrives. Although there is a good choice of colour I would love some more patterned options, even the green camo and orange camo that some of the other collars come in to match the leads.

We love it! We bought the teal 4cm. RR collar, embroidered with our dog's name on it and the matching double-ended training leash. I had to return my first order (my own fault) and this went without a hitch and I was promptly provided with a refund. The replacement did take a long time to arrive, but then I did ask to have the collar personalised. It was however well out width the quoted maximum delivery time. My e-mails were promptly replied to but the web form did not seem to yield the same success. The teal is a beautiful, vibrant colour that makes me smile every time I look at it. I haven't washed it, so I don't know if it will run or fade, but I hope not because it's gorgeous and it will get dirty. The embroidery is bold and stunning and makes the collar unique to my dog. The collar feels soft and comfortable yet strong and it looks fantastic on my rottie. The matching lead itself is light-weight but the hardware is heavy and dependably solid. It's a bit too big and chunky for my liking, but it feels safe as houses. The largest ring in the middle of the lead gets in the way a bit of the way I like to hold my lead (wrapped around my hand once) but that might be different for everyone. I don't really see the point of it, so I will dremel it off. The fabric feels soft but grippy and the double clasps means I can use it with my dog’s head collar and RR collar.

FAQs

What is the best dog collar?

The best dog collar really depends on the breed, size and activity level of your dog. Slip-on collars are great to assist training your dog that pulls, whereas a Combat collar is perfect for everyday use and comes in various thicknesses, from 2.5cm for smaller breeds to 5cm for XL breeds. How tight should a dog collar be?

Similar to harnesses, a dog collar should be snug but not too tight. We’d recommend being able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck - if you can fit more than two fingers, the collar may be too loose and could slip off. If you can’t fit two fingers, it might be too tight for your dog causing discomfort and potentially breathing difficulties.

Do dogs have to wear collars?

It’s a legal requirement for dogs to wear collars with ID tags when in public. The tag needs to display your name and address to help reunite you and your dog if they ever get lost. We know that a lot of owners prefer using harnesses, but a collar and ID tag are essential to comply with UK law when you’re out in public, so make sure you’ve got both on if needs be.

How do you measure a dog collar?

To measure a dog collar, wrap a flexible measuring tape around the base (the lower sections) of your dog’s neck whilst leaving enough room to fit two fingers in between. A lot of collars are adjustable, which is ideal for a puppy as you can simply extend the collar as they grow into it.
