The 4cm Lighter Combat® Collar is engineered for dogs who need strength, stability, and dependable handling without the unnecessary weight. Now available in new colour options, this upgraded version delivers the same professional‑grade performance as our original Combat® design, but in a lighter, more agile build. Each collar is approximately 100g lighter per size than our standard 4cm Combat® Collars, giving you powerful control with noticeably less bulk.

The collar was beautiful and very well made. However i felt it was just too bulky for my female dobbie, the buckle part in particular. I would have preferred the pink camo in the 2.5cm which wasnt available. Will definately try again for something suitable for her.

What is the best dog collar?

The best dog collar really depends on the breed, size and activity level of your dog. Slip-on collars are great to assist training your dog that pulls, whereas a Combat collar is perfect for everyday use and comes in various thicknesses, from 2.5cm for smaller breeds to 5cm for XL breeds. How tight should a dog collar be?

Similar to harnesses, a dog collar should be snug but not too tight. We’d recommend being able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck - if you can fit more than two fingers, the collar may be too loose and could slip off. If you can’t fit two fingers, it might be too tight for your dog causing discomfort and potentially breathing difficulties.

Do dogs have to wear collars?

It’s a legal requirement for dogs to wear collars with ID tags when in public. The tag needs to display your name and address to help reunite you and your dog if they ever get lost. We know that a lot of owners prefer using harnesses, but a collar and ID tag are essential to comply with UK law when you’re out in public, so make sure you’ve got both on if needs be.

How do you measure a dog collar?

To measure a dog collar, wrap a flexible measuring tape around the base (the lower sections) of your dog’s neck whilst leaving enough room to fit two fingers in between. A lot of collars are adjustable, which is ideal for a puppy as you can simply extend the collar as they grow into it.
