How often should you give your dog a lick mat?

It's safe to use a lick mat daily as part of a feeding or calming routine, kept to short sessions of 10 to 20 minutes. Rotate toppers to keep it interesting, and match portions to your dog's normal daily food allowance.

How to wash a lick mat?

Washing BullyBillows Lick mats are easy, we recommend washing by hand with hot/warm water and washing up liquid, make sure you get into all those nooks and crannies. We don't advise putting in a dishwasher for cleaning.

Are you supposed to freeze lick mats for dogs?

Freezing a lick mat is one of the easiest ways to slow your dog down. The cold makes the topping harder to lick off, so it takes longer to finish and keeps them occupied for longer. It's especially handy in hot weather, since a frozen mat stays appealing for longer and gives your dog a cool treat to work through. Freeze it for 1 to 2 hours and check the topping isn't a solid block before giving it to your dog.

When should you use a lick mat?

A lick mat works well at mealtimes to slow down fast eaters, during grooming, baths or nail trims, and while crate training or settling into a new routine. It's also useful before car journeys or vet visits to help ease anxiety.
