The best harness for my boys broad dachshund chest. So easy to put on and he looks so comfortable when wearing it. This is our second Boomerang Harness, they are by far the best on the market

This harness is a game changer for our dog - patterdale x dachshund. He's a strong boy with short legs and other harnesses we had tried restricted the movement of his front legs and gave him sores under his front legs where the fasteners are. He is so comfortable now. Amazing!

This is the second harness we’ve bought of this type. She’s got a great array of Bully Billows accessories and we love them all. Excellent quality and superb customer services

We haven’t had a harness that fits Dobby properly since we’ve had him. He is a cross breed between a cocker spaniel and a dachshund which makes buying him things that fit interesting! This harness fits him beautifully and he is so comfortable in it, he even falls asleep wearing it in the car.

Couldn’t be happier, we’ve tried so many different harnesses but as miniature dachshunds have a very broad chest bone these are the absolute perfect t fit! Such great quality!

Honestly it’s a struggle to find a harness that doesn’t rub on the back of our dogs front legs and restrict their movement. Being miniature dachshunds they are hard to find harnesses that fit well, without spending a fortune. Not only are the harnesses a great fit, they are super soft and flexible, and both boys can now run their little legs off without fear of rubbing. Thank you!! Will definitely be shouting loud amongst the dachshund community about this product!!! 🐶

Had so much trouble finding a harness to fit my mini dachshund. First I got xs, but that was too small. Managed to exchange without any problems and received the small a few days later. As u can see from the picture, that one fits lovely. Extra room to make bigger or smaller if needed.

Best harness we’ve had so far . Zorro is a miniature English bull terrier with the pulling power of a shire horse , when he wants to . This harness has made quite a difference to walking him . It’s easy to put on , very comfortable, very happy with it

Bought this for our Chihuahua, who had outgrown his previous Julius-K9 harness. He was still too small for the next size up, so we were left without a suitable harness for him. We ordered this one after getting a Tri-Harness from BullyBillows for our British Bulldog, as we liked the idea of having them in matching brands. It fits him perfectly! It feels really secure, and I love that the clip locks into place, giving us that extra bit of reassurance when we’re out walking. It also feels soft and supportive without being bulky or uncomfortable for him. Really pleased with the fit and quality, especially for such a small dog. 🐶❤️

Only three walks in, but so far, the harness seems excellent. It is lightweight, malleable and yet strong enough to restrain our very eager 15kg spaniel. The low profile and almost negligible weight mean she has full range of motion and won't overheat when chasing the ball. It is also neat enough that a dogcoat will still fit and work over the top of it. The only thing that could improve this harness is a tab of soft-side velcro that could be trimmed to size after final fit sizing to blank the remaining exposed rough-side. This exposed section is already gathering debris from the woods. But that's a minor niggle that I'll resolve myself with an offcut from elsewhere. All in all, I'd highly recommend this item.

Unfortunately my dog won't tolerate this harness, I like the design and it appears well made, but where the velcro fastens over his back, the overlapping fabric makes a ledge on his back which makes him keep rolling over to try and get it off as it irritates him. I have given up with it and purchased a harness that lays flat against his body and doesn't irritate him.

Love the harness, it's very well made. The only thing is it is too wide at the neck after tightening the straps but I would buy it again

Boomerang Harness - XS-M Breeds - Black

Not sure but you could look at the same harness but make it lighter less stiff and thinner around the front part not sure but I have a very very active dachshund we hike and ramble and this harness certainly won’t let him do that in comfort their chests are massive and need great expansion probably my fault for buying that type not sure

Love love LOVE this harness! We have a little mix breed who we struggle to get harnesses for as she's a dachshund/terrier cross, but this harness is absolutely perfect for her. No rubbing on the legs, doesn't put pressure on her throat and comfortable fit, she's always happy to pop it on and go walkies!

FAQs

How to put on a dog harness

Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.

What is the best dog harness?

The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.

How to measure a harness for a dog

To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls.

If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.

How to use a dog harness correctly

To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
