I have gone through at least 11 different harness styles for my Walter. This one is the absolute winner. The front part with logo sits underneath the upper chest and the bottom wraps around his mid chest, so there is no pulling at the throat and zero rubbing against his front inner legs. This is the exact design I was looking for! And it's gorgeous. My rescue is 22lbs and I got a medium. I did have to pull the straps tighter at the top where the buckle is but that was easy.
Absolutely beautiful harness tried lots of different ones until a friend recommended bully billows perfect fit lovely quality infact I am just about to order another couple for my miniature dachshund puppy honestly they are great there is no rubbing on chafing with them at all I bought the boomerang harness thanks bully billows 😀
The step in harness is great for our spaniel Willow who doesn’t like to have things put over her head. Stepping into the harness is a game changer with minimal fuss or adjustments. Willow is 3yrs old a WCS and medium is the perfect fit.
Great harness for my mini dachshund, doesn’t constrain her legs at all but feels nice and secure. I like the fact I can use with a jumper as we go into winter.
The harness is perfect for my pug fits perfectly but can be adjusted if needed very strong but soft very pleased as hard to find the perfect size for a pug .
When the harness first arrived, I thought it was too small! Then realised it was adjustable!
Absolutely perfect for my 15 week old Puppy! It doesn’t seem to bother or irritate him when we are out walking. Its such a nice design and I feel confident when he wears it, knowing he wont be able to wriggle or escape out of it.
Love the colour and design!
Would definitely recommend and will be purchasing more as he grows!
Perfect fit for my miniature dachshund. Comfortable to wear for extended periods, and much more secure than some other harnesses due to its shape. Looks great too.
I already purchased one, so I had to get a second one for when one needs a wash.
I have a miniature dachshund who hates putting a harness on over his head so as this one just wraps round his body is perfect. He also suffers with heat rash so the less material on his body the better. He’s only worn it twice but seems a lot happier with it on thanks
"Medium" fitted my Jack-a-poo perfectly straight out of the box! His chest is 53 cm - the maximum for "small" size & minimum for "medium". Will be easy to fit over his thick Winter coat as well because of the velcro chest strap - no more fiddling with clips. He likes to walk with his nose to the ground which usually makes harnesses hang down at the front, but not this design. I have wasted so much money on other styles that don't fit properly. Ordering a second one in a different colour straight away. Highly recommended.
Thought Id ordered the wrong size but worked out that it was adjustable! Absolutely lovely harness, perfect for my dachshund puppy! Great quality. Love it. Will definitely be buying more from BullyBillows.
Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.
What is the best dog harness?
The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.
How to measure a harness for a dog
To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls.
If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.
How to use a dog harness correctly
To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
