This product

Please be mindful when customising the Combat Range, the adjuster may cover part of the text. The best way to help avoid this is to choose the smallest size which will fit your dog, as a result of this, the adjuster will be located at the end of the collar away from the name. Colours and fonts may change very slightly during production.

Size & fit

The stitching area on our XXS, XS and Small sizes is limited; we advise having a maximum of 5 characters and not adding an icon.

About personalisation

Important - Creating your unique look with our bespoke stitching/engraving quality could take us up to 7-10 working days to complete, it's well worth the wait though.

When customising the Combat Range, the adjuster may cover part of the text. The best way to help avoid this is to choose the smallest size which will fit your dog; the adjuster will then be located at the end of the collar away from the name.

Preview images are for illustration only, text and Icons will always be centered neatly on the product. Colours and fonts may change very slightly during production.

We offer personalisation option on almost all of our Collars, Leads and Harnesses. What are the key benefits of adding personalisation to your BullyBillows gear?

1. They're unique to you and your dog.

2. If you have multiple dogs, adding your dogs name can help to distinguish which collar is for which dog.

3. Adding a phone number and Social handle in the unfortunate event of your dog getting lost, this is a very powerful way to ensure your dog can be tracked back to you.

4. If you have a working dog, nervous dog or one who just loves to jump, you can enter names such as POLICE DOG, WARNING, DO NOT PET, NERVOUS etc.

The neck measurement should be taken around the lower part of your dog’s neck, simply measure the widest part at the base of the neck as this is where the collar is going to sit. This size chart is based on min-max measurements.

This 4cm width collar is suitable for medium-large breeds such as Frenchies, Staffies, Spaniels, German Shepherds, Huskies and upwards. If your dog is smaller or larger than these breeds, please see our 2.5cm and our 5cm collar versions.

Product description

The BullyBillows 4cm Lighter Combat® Collar - No Handle delivers the strength and durability the Combat® range is renowned for, now in a handle-free design with matching hardware for a clean, coordinated finish.

Approximately 100g lighter per size than our regular Combat® Collars, it provides a lightweight alternative without compromising on durability. Perfect for dog owners looking for a lighter collar that still delivers the strength and security of the Combat® range.

Lightweight & Built to Perform
The original BullyBillows 4cm Combat® Collar was the first of its kind in the world. This Lighter version features triple-stitched nylon, a secure 6mm-wide Aluminium Alloy D-Loop and a specially crafted bespoke Combat® Clip for quick release and locking.

Our Combat® Clips have undergone extensive pressure testing for added confidence during walks and handling. The clip can only be opened by pressing both levers simultaneously, helping prevent accidental release.

Comfortable for Everyday Wear
The internal layer is lined with soft Neoprene, which is odourless and quick-drying. This provides a comfortable feel against your dog's neck while helping to prevent rubbing against the fur.

Easily Adjustable
The collar is simple to adjust to achieve the right fit. Just thread the nylon through the metal adjuster to extend or shorten the collar as needed.

Suitable for daily use on any breed, the 4cm Lighter Combat® Collar is also widely used by professional dog handlers, police dogs, military and security dogs.

FAQs

What is the best dog collar?

The best dog collar really depends on the breed, size and activity level of your dog. Slip-on collars are great to assist training your dog that pulls, whereas a Combat collar is perfect for everyday use and comes in various thicknesses, from 2.5cm for smaller breeds to 5cm for XL breeds. Our pin buckle collars are also a great choice among medium to XL dog owners, and the Billowthane collar range is 100% waterproof, ideal for pooches who love water! Read more in our Collar Buying Guide to find the right collar for your dog.

How tight should a dog collar be?

Similar to harnesses, a dog collar should be snug but not too tight. We’d recommend being able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck - if you can fit more than two fingers, the collar may be too loose and could slip off. If you can’t fit two fingers, it might be too tight for your dog causing discomfort and potentially breathing difficulties.

Do dogs have to wear collars?

It’s a legal requirement for dogs to wear collars with ID tags when in public. The tag needs to display your name and address to help reunite you and your dog if they ever get lost. We know that a lot of owners prefer using harnesses, but a collar and ID tag are essential to comply with UK law when you’re out in public, so make sure you’ve got both on if needs be.

How do you measure a dog collar?

To measure a dog collar, wrap a flexible measuring tape around the base (the lower sections) of your dog’s neck whilst leaving enough room to fit two fingers in between. A lot of collars are adjustable, which is ideal for a puppy as you can simply extend the collar as they grow into it.
