Product description

Designed to slip over your dog's head, this reinvented martingale-style collar combines comfort, control and visibility for puppies, small breeds, and growing or fully mature dogs.

For the best fit, we recommend choosing the smallest size possible within the size range that fits your dog's neck. As the collar slips over the head, please measure your dog's head size before selecting a size. Dogs with larger heads may need to choose the next size up.

Designed for Sensitive Skin

The collar features three internal layers: nylon, foam and neoprene, providing a soft and comfortable fit for dogs with sensitive skin.

The thick foam and neoprene padding may increase the collar's width from 3cm to between 3.4cm and 3.8cm due to the overhang of the materials.

A Safer Take on the Martingale Collar

We believe collars should not choke dogs when they pull. Specific stitching lines are incorporated to help maintain safety and comfort while allowing the collar to remain effective.

The collar features two stainless steel D-rings. The larger D-ring connects to the collar automatically, while the lead clips onto the smaller D-ring. When your dog pulls, tension tightens the smaller loop, which in turn tightens the larger nylon loop around the neck.

Many owners have reported a significantly improved walking experience after just the first use.

Enhanced Visibility

Two reflective strips are incorporated into the collar to improve visibility and safety during night-time walks. They are effectively piping along the top and bottom of the nylon on the collar to help with spotting your dog in low light.

FAQs

What is the best dog collar?

The best dog collar really depends on the breed, size and activity level of your dog. Slip-on collars are great to assist training your dog that pulls, whereas a Combat collar is perfect for everyday use and comes in various thicknesses, from 2.5cm for smaller breeds to 5cm for XL breeds. Our pin buckle collars are also a great choice among medium to XL dog owners, and the Billowthane collar range is 100% waterproof, ideal for pooches who love water! Read more in our Collar Buying Guide to find the right collar for your dog.

How tight should a dog collar be?

Similar to harnesses, a dog collar should be snug but not too tight. We’d recommend being able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck - if you can fit more than two fingers, the collar may be too loose and could slip off. If you can’t fit two fingers, it might be too tight for your dog causing discomfort and potentially breathing difficulties.

Do dogs have to wear collars?

It’s a legal requirement for dogs to wear collars with ID tags when in public. The tag needs to display your name and address to help reunite you and your dog if they ever get lost. We know that a lot of owners prefer using harnesses, but a collar and ID tag are essential to comply with UK law when you’re out in public, so make sure you’ve got both on if needs be.

How do you measure a dog collar?

To measure a dog collar, wrap a flexible measuring tape around the base (the lower sections) of your dog’s neck whilst leaving enough room to fit two fingers in between. A lot of collars are adjustable, which is ideal for a puppy as you can simply extend the collar as they grow into it.
