Product description

Looking for a durable alternative to traditional leather? Meet the BullyBillows Billowthane® Collar - a vegan, waterproof and highly durable collar designed to make everyday life easier for both dogs and their handlers.

Made from our proprietary Billowthane® material, this collar delivers the benefits and functionality of leather without being absorbent or prone to rot. The result is a collar with enhanced tear resistance, excellent durability and an easy-to-clean surface.

Durable, Waterproof & Easy to Maintain

Unlike traditional leather, Billowthane® is waterproof and non-absorbent, making it ideal for use in all conditions. Whether you're heading out in the rain, exploring muddy trails or enjoying an everyday walk, the collar can be easily cleaned and maintained.

Designed for Comfort & Control

The Billowthane® material provides the ideal balance between rigidity and suppleness, helping the collar maintain its structure while remaining comfortable for your dog.

Its smooth construction reduces friction against your dog's skin and fur, while the TPU material can help reduce the risk of friction burns if the collar needs to be grabbed suddenly in an emergency situation.

Built to Last

For added durability, the collar features stainless steel hardware with a black-plated finish, providing a strong and stylish look, designed to withstand everyday use.

The Billowthane® Collar also pairs perfectly with our Billowthane® Leads, allowing you to create a complete, coordinated setup.

FAQs

What is the best dog collar?

The best dog collar really depends on the breed, size and activity level of your dog. Slip-on collars are great to assist training your dog that pulls, whereas a Combat collar is perfect for everyday use and comes in various thicknesses, from 2.5cm for smaller breeds to 5cm for XL breeds. Our pin buckle collars are also a great choice among medium to XL dog owners, and the Billowthane collar range is 100% waterproof, ideal for pooches who love water! Read more in our Collar Buying Guide to find the right collar for your dog.

How tight should a dog collar be?

Similar to harnesses, a dog collar should be snug but not too tight. We’d recommend being able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck - if you can fit more than two fingers, the collar may be too loose and could slip off. If you can’t fit two fingers, it might be too tight for your dog causing discomfort and potentially breathing difficulties.

Do dogs have to wear collars?

It’s a legal requirement for dogs to wear collars with ID tags when in public. The tag needs to display your name and address to help reunite you and your dog if they ever get lost. We know that a lot of owners prefer using harnesses, but a collar and ID tag are essential to comply with UK law when you’re out in public, so make sure you’ve got both on if needs be.

How do you measure a dog collar?

To measure a dog collar, wrap a flexible measuring tape around the base (the lower sections) of your dog’s neck whilst leaving enough room to fit two fingers in between. A lot of collars are adjustable, which is ideal for a puppy as you can simply extend the collar as they grow into it.
