Weighted Harnesses Iron Block - Contains x5 Weights

Product description

Take your dog's training setup to the next level with BullyBillows Weighted Blocks, designed to fit our Weight & Fitness Comfort Harness. Made from solid steel and finished with a zinc anti-rust coating, these weights offer a durable, practical way to customise your harness with the appropriate additional load.

Solid Steel Construction
Each block is made from solid steel with chamfered edges, designed to minimise sharp edges and make handling easier. An electroplated zinc coating helps protect against rust while the coating remains intact.

To maintain the finish, check the blocks regularly for signs of wear or damage and keep them in suitable condition between uses.

Choose Your Weight Set
Each box contains five individual steel weights, with the weight of each block varying by size. Choose the set that matches your harness and intended setup.

  • Small: 5 blocks, 150g each (750g total)
  • Medium: 5 blocks, 293g each (1.465kg total)
  • Large: 5 blocks, 439g each (2.195kg total)
  • X-Large: 5 blocks, 581g each (2.905kg total)

Designed for Your Weighted Harness
These blocks are designed for use with the BullyBillows Weight & Fitness Comfort Harness and its five integrated Velcro pouches. The weights are sold separately from the harness, allowing you to select the compatible set for your requirements.

Please remember: Added weight may place extra strain on your dog's muscles and joints. Seek veterinary advice before introducing weighted exercise, and only use a load that's appropriate for your individual dog. These weights should not be used with puppies or dogs that are still growing.

Customer photo review of Weighted Harnesses Iron Block - Contains x5 Weights

This weighted harness is a brilliant concept, especially now he can't be off lead unless I book the enclosed dog park. As always, ordering and delivery process was straightforward. I've started adding the weights slowly and I've noticed a massive difference on our walks already. It's helping him to maintain his fitness and he is a lot calmer on his lead walks. The harness fits well and is easily adjusted and easy to clean. My only pointer would be the pockets where you place the weights. The weight bars have pointed corners and they are already starting to push through the material (I have used the bags to put the weight bar in the pocket) and I've not been using it for that long. I have attached a couple of pictures for your reference. Overall a brilliant product as always but just needs a little design rethink/modification. Thanks all at Bully Billows.

Love the weight harness with the weights for my american staffordshire terrier girl. It is nice that you can use the harness alone or you can choose how many weights to fill it with. Love it! Great quality, too!

Weighted Harness Iron Block - x5 Weights

My GSD is nervous after being attacked. I took her to a trainer who recommended a weighted jacket. I brought 2 sets of weights due to getting the correct weight each side trainer stated. The weights are presented well in a nice sturdy box and the quality of the weights are fab & quick delivery. The jacket & weights are doing the trick. I highly recommend for nervous dogs and pullers.

These will cause damage to your harness! Edges are too sharp, and coating is poorly done (caused rusting and staining the harness) and I believe they are too thick too. Pockets on the harness are made of wide elastic bands, those iron blocks due to the movement are damaging pockets fibres and cut through the fabric/band. Not very pleased with these.

FAQs

How to put on a dog harness

Start by unbuckling the harness and having your dog sit or stand still next to you. Slip the harness over their head and pull the straps underneath their tummy. Or, if you have a step-in harness, place it on the floor and help your dog place their feet correctly, before pulling it up over their back. Fasten it up securely, making sure it’s not too tight or too loose, and adjust accordingly.

What is the best dog harness?

The best dog harness really depends on the breed, size, and activity level of your dog. The comfortable Hurricane Harness features a useful handle and is super lightweight, while the Premium Harness is a great all-rounder for any dog. The traditional slip-on harnesses offer quick and easy fitting, while step-in harnesses might be better for dogs that dislike harnesses going over their head. And if your dog pulls, the TRI-Harness helps with training to prevent excessive pulling on the lead. You can read more in our Dog Harness Buying Guide. All of our harnesses are lined with Neoprene which is soft and helps avoid harsh burns unlike other brands.

How to measure a harness for a dog

To measure your dog for a harness, grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of their ribcage, then measure their neck at the base (where the collar sits and not in the middle of the neck). Make sure that the measurements aren’t too tight, but are secure enough that the harness won’t slip off if your dog pulls.

If you have the harness already, try it on your dog and make sure you can fit two fingers between the harness and their body. Finally, monitor your dog’s behaviour - if they’re showing signs of discomfort or walking awkwardly, it may need adjusting more to suit your dog.

How to use a dog harness correctly

To ensure you’re using your dog harness correctly, you need to make sure it’s properly fitted. This means that it’s tight enough to prevent the harness moving, but loose enough to allow your pooch to move comfortably. Attach your lead to your chosen D-ring, whether that’s on their back or their chest, and get ready for your adventure!
