FAQs

What size harness does a Chow Chow need?

Chow Chows typically need a Large or XL - and their thick coat can make sizing feel tricky. Always measure chest girth and neck circumference directly against the skin, not over the coat and refer to our sizing calculator before ordering.

Are Chow Chows hard to harness train?

They can be resistant at first. The key is introducing the harness gradually and positively, keeping sessions short and rewarding. Once they accept it, most Chows are absolutely fine.

Do Chow Chows pull on the lead?

Not usually in the same way as high-energy breeds - they tend to be more deliberate walkers. That said, they're strong and stubborn, so calm, consistent handling makes a big difference.

What collar is best for a Chow Chow?

Look for a wider collar with a soft inner lining that won't damage or mat their thick ruff.
