Fun Fact:

Did you know Greyhounds are the second fastest land animal on earth, capable of reaching speeds of up to 45mph? They're faster than a lion, a bear, and most things that might actually want to chase them. Thankfully, they spend approximately 18 hours a day asleep on the sofa.

FAQs

What size harness does a Greyhound need?

Greyhounds are notoriously difficult to size due to their deep chest and narrow waist. Most fall into a Large or XL for chest size but need the waist taken in considerably. Always measure both chest and waist circumference and use our size calculator.

Are Greyhounds safe off the lead?

Greyhounds are sighthounds with explosive prey drive, so while working on that recall, the long line is the safest tool.

Do Greyhounds pull on the lead?

Generally no - they're surprisingly gentle walkers. The exception is when prey drive kicks in, at which point the pull is sudden and extremely powerful. Solid hardware and a secure harness are your protection against that.

Are Greyhounds good for first-time dog owners?

They can be great for first time owners - they're gentle, low-maintenance in terms of exercise, and incredibly affectionate. The main thing is just understanding their prey drive.
