There are two main measurements you’ll need to find the perfect sized dog coat for your pup: the chest girth and the neck girth. Measure at the widest part of each, and then consult the size charts of wherever the coat you’re eyeing up is from to see which size your dog falls into.

How to get the right measurements.

Chest measurement: run your measuring tape just behind your dog’s front legs, going around the widest part of their torso.
Neck measurement: run the measuring tape around the lower part of your dog’s neck, just in front of their front legs, as this is where the coat will sit.
If they have a lot of fur: don’t pull the tape measure too tight, as you want the coat to fit comfortably around your dog’s fur.
